Street Art vs. Corporate Activism

Shepard Fairey’s latest piece was commissioned and inspired by champion cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. The mural is located at Nike’s Montalban Theater in LA. Meanwhile, a few days ago, the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) launched its LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Campaign in Mexico. We found an amazing article about the importance of street artists such as Fairey in the Huffington Post. Have a read.

Gearing up for the Armory Show + Meeting Madonna

| by admin | category: Art, Music

New York is getting ready to party like an art star!!! For GURU, the week started up hardcore with an unexpected meeting with Madonna at Tracy Anderson’s birthday party last night in Hells Kitchen.

It’s very hard for me to explain the feeling of meeting such a prominent lady and dancing to her songs… in front of her, while sippin’ on a GURU Lite. Give it to me, yeah! I’m not mentioning how hot she and Tracy were.

Tonight, we’re hitting the Katya Leonovich show in Tribeca – Miss Leonovich also dressed the Material Girl a few times, curated by our friend Emmanuel Fremin. Meanwhile, all the single bloggers will be putting their hands up at the Music Slut’s mixer at Angels and Kings.

++Happy Birthday Ray!!!
