Everyone who works at LNDMRK is way too nice. It’s crazy. The mission of this small company on St-Laurent is to act as the link between artists and businesses. A bit like a modelling agency, they represent artists and give them unique opportunities to collaborate with brands.
“Artists are artists. Some are a bit out there. They aren’t always experts in selling themselves or in managing their social media presence,” explains André Bathalon, one of the company’s founders. “We help them with business.” I guess that’s why they’re so nice at LNDMRK.
“Our goal is to add value to the client while at the same time promoting the artist,” André continues. “It’s a win-win situation. The businesses that approach us are looking for something out of the ordinary, and are cool with the idea of us playing with their brand, their logo, their universe.” Accompanied by some of the people who work there, we decide to go check out a mural made possible by Rogers.
These murals were created last year for the festival d’art MURAL on St-Laurent, a festival launched by LNDMRK. Even today, all of these giant pieces that border the Main can be admired by following the map available here. It’s a real tour-de-force for this young company that was adept in negotiating the use of the walls with the building owners who were ready to play along. “At first not all of the owners understood the added value. But when you take a look at how it turned out…”
Back at the offices, we noticed that tons of people just seem to drop by. “This is the famous Friday afternoon, when friends stop by for a drink. We don’t even have to call anyone,” explains Yan Cordeau, a co-founder. “You’re going to have to come back one of these days.” Yup, still the same generosity.
LNDMRK is constantly looking for brands and businesses that are interested in art. Don’t hesitate to get in touch, they’re very welcoming.
