We were excited to participate in The Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, the world’s largest natural food and beverages trade show. Over 3 days the record crowd of 67,000 people explored thousands of booths like ours to taste and gather product samples. At one point we ran out of GURU and had to have extra cases shipped to keep up with the demand!

We met with more than 5,000 curious consumers who are always on the lookout for new products. Bearing in mind the wide selection of exhibitors (3000), it’s safe to say our thriving industry can no longer considered a small niche market. A big thank you to all the curious folks we met. We hope you’ll keep in touch via our newsletter. Every week we feature new articles and stories about inspiring people from the creative industry.

Beyond Meat

Beyond Meat is a company that produces vegan meat out of plants. They managed to get the attention of restaurant chains by pulling a crazy stunt: building a mockup Taco Bell-ish booth and serving tacos filled with faux-meat. They then asked consumers to share their impressions on social media, mentioning the Taco Bell twitter handle in the process. Really impressive marketing!

Caliwater Cactus Water

While the trade show was packed with dozens of Coconut Water brands, we discovered that Cactus Water, made from the fruit of the Prickly Pear Cactus, is also a trend this year. They’ve perfected a 200mg blend of Prickly Pear Cactus Extract + Prickly Pear Cactus Juice + Water that delivers vital nutrients with ultimate hydration in mind. Interesting.

Kola Soda Syrups

And of course, small batch products were well represented. There is now a company devoted to producing organic soda syrup. Before the era of big brands, soda was sold as a syrup concentrate to mix with carbonated water and sometimes, medicine. With a great vintage-looking bottle, Kola Soda Syrups didn’t skimp on their aesthetic.
