You’ve probably heard of Lime Truck – maybe you’ve seen the truck parked amongst the seas of food trucks in Los Angeles or perhaps you saw them on the Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race dueling it out amongst other food trucks. Well, of course these dudes won the Food Network challenge and of course they have been killing it ever since.
TLT Restaurant is the extension of the truck, first opening its doors in Westwood last November. Much of their success is due to the relentless work ethic of Chef Shemtob and team as well as their consistently incredible, reasonably priced and portioned dishes. With new locations slated for downtown LA and Irvine, it is safe to say TLT changed the food truck game and will be rocking the Los Angeles restaurant industry.
This isn’t to say that it has been smooth sailing since Day 1. The Great Food Truck Race was incredibly challenging – many competitors took the easy route by purchasing frozen food to incorporate into their dishes whereas TLT insisted on creating everything from scratch. While it was more difficult, of course, it also allowed the team to hone their work ethic, create signature dishes that tasted incredible and gain a solid reputation as being a group of honest workers that create epic food from scratch.
