Urban GURU: Graffiti Debates

| by admin | category: Art

We found this great video yesterday on Twitter, which addresses street art in West London.

Graffiti Debates from Helen Omand on Vimeo.

The documentary aims to get young people talking about graffiti issues in the community of Fulham Court, but it sure has a global point of view. Kudos to the Can Control Team and director Helen Omand.  Way to go with the positive attitude!

Hallow: McCoy at Hope Gallery 3/13

| by admin | category: Art

New York-based artist Marc McCoy is opening his second solo exhibition entitled “HALLOW”at LA’s Hope Gallery on Friday March 13th, 2009. The show runs through April 11.

PYRRHIC 36 x 48 in, ink on Paper, 2008

An esoteric interpretation of decay seems to have always been at the core McCoy’s creative process. His last monograph of collages, WOUND, focused on the human’s impulsive desire for self-destruction. This new body of work, a collection of black and white ink drawings, depicts corpses, architectural chaos and ‘alchemical transmutations’.
