During this year Montreal’s Fashion & Design Festival, GURU Energy Drink set up a photo studio on the street and hosted the GURU Photo Challenge. It consisted in a live photo shoot competition, outdoors, on white background, using as subjects the eclectic characters that make Montreal’s urban jungle so unique. The photographers each had 3 hours to complete their task and had to choose people off the street. Once they were done with the photo shoot, they had to submit 8 portraits each (of 8 different characters) to take part in the competition. Here are our photographers’ picks. The photograph that receives the most votes from the public will win and the lucky photographer will take home the GURU prize: $1000, plus a gift certificate of $500 from Astral Photo and a year’s supply of GURU (15 cases of 24x 355mL cans of their choice), a total value of $2200
