4) How much caffeine does GURU contain?
Our products contain between 100-142 mg of naturally-occurring caffeine (equivalent of 1 cup of coffee or 2 large caffeinated soft drinks).
5) Do you use less sugar than conventional energy drinks?
Yes, we use 20-35% less sugar than most energy drinks. GURU contains 21 g of organic cane sugar per 8.4 oz. can and our low calorie GURU Lite only contains 2 g of sugar.
6) Does GURU contain taurine?
GURU is taurine free! When it comes to our ingredients, we are minimalists, we only use what is essential. Since Taurine has been highly criticised and banned in certain countries, we have decided not to use it.
7) Why no added vitamins in GURU?
We believe in a clean label which is why we keep our ingredient list as simple as possible with no compromise on good energy and great taste!
8) Is naturally-occurring caffeine actually better for you?
Unlike the synthetic caffeine found in most conventional energy drinks, we use caffeine found in plants such as green tea and guarana. This source of caffeine provides a natural, longer-lasting energy without the adverse side effects experienced with synthetic caffeine, such as jitteriness or a sudden crash.
9) We use Stevia as a sweetener!
The Stevia plant has been used for more than 1,500 years by the Guaraní peoples of South America, the indigenous people used to chew the leaves for their sweet taste and used them to naturally sweeten beverages. What makes this plant truly special is that there are no calories associated with it.
10) We use lo han guo (monk fruit) as a sweetener!
Grown in Southeast Asia, Luo Han Guo is known as monk fruit because it has been used by Buddhist monks since the 13th century. Known for its sweetness, monk fruit contains zero calories per serving – meaning a very small amount goes a long way!

If you are diabetic, please consult your physician or other health care professional to get their medical opinion. We would recommend opting for GURU Lite (2-3 g of sugar) or GURU Energy Water (zero sugar) which have low to no sugar content. These products are sweetened using natural sweeteners such as stevia (zero glycemic index), monk fruit (zero glycemic index) and erythritol (low glycemic index).
16) Why do you use aluminum cans?
We use aluminum cans because they can be indefinitely recycled, contributing to a circular economy and lower emissions. Cans also ensure a longer shelf life, making sure your GURU tastes great every time!
